STRUCTURAL CONCRETE
Concrete is used for structural support. Concrete and rebar are used to increase tensile strength. Concrete should be placed on stable subsoil. Concrete is measured in cubic yards. Concrete and steel reinforcing bars should always be placed according to local building codes or under the direction of a structural engineer.

A.) Footings & Foundations

The most common type of footing used for foundations in this area are called continuous or spread footings. Most footings are reinforced with rebar designed by a structural engineer. Most all houses in California will have some type of concrete footing and foundation to support the building whether single story or two story.

B.) Structures & Stairs

A common type of concrete procedure used for residential, is a combined slab and foundation-footing is called a monolithic slab. Stairs to houses are often built with concrete.

C.) Retaining Walls

Retaining walls can be either block or concrete walls with some type of concrete footings. All block or concrete walls should be reinforced with specified size and spacing of rebar.
