cabinetry
When you begin to refer to cabinetry you are basically making decisions
about storage of your belongings. What items do you need everyday?
Once a week? Or once a month? And where in the house do you need
the storage. The most common areas being the kitchen, bathrooms,
closets, foyers, hallways, dining room, family room, laundry room,
garage and basements. Cabinets come in a vast variety of shapes,
finishes, styles and options. And are produced from your local cabinet
shop to manufacturers from all parts of the world. There are basically
two styles of cabinetry, framed and frameless. Framed cabinets are
what is usually called traditional style cabinets that have a full
frame across the face of the cabinet box. Framed cabinets can be
purchased inexpensive in a ready-made cabinet directly from manufacturers
stock in finished form, unfinished form, or as what is called a
knockdown form. Framed cabinets can be purchased in a semi expensive,
semi custom cabinet to a very expensive custom made cabinet.
Custom made cabinets can be
purchased from a large manufacturer or you can have them built to
specifications of your room size by your local cabinet shop. Frameless
cabinets, better known as European style cabinets are built without
a face frame. Domestic and European manufacturers offer frameless
cabinets. The materials used to build cabinets may be solid wood
and plywood, wood and particleboard, wood and hardboard, or all
particleboard. Cabinets are manufactured basically three ways which
are stock, semi-custom and custom. Stock cabinets are limited to
the styles and colors of the manufacturer. As well as the quality
which will usually be fair, good or excellent. And this to will
determine the price. Stock cabinets range in price from inexpensive
to moderate sometimes just by the manufacturer. Semi-custom cabinets
are available in specific sizes just like stock cabinets. But there
are many more finishes, colors, styles and special accessories to
choose from than stock cabinets have to offer. Delivery time of
these cabinets is usually longer than stock cabinets. Custom cabinets
are usually built to the measurements of a project. Custom cabinets
are usually made in a local cabinet shop. These type of cabinets
are made from scratch and usually take a month to four months to
make. There usually are no limitations to type, color, style and
features specified. The price of these cabinets is usually moderate
to very expensive.
