INSULATION

In a remodel of a home or construction of a new home. Your insulation requirements are taken care for you by an architect or the rules and calculations he or she must submit thru what is called a certificate of compliance that lists the building features and performance specifications needed to comply with Title- 24 of the California Code of Regulations. This is one of the requirements needed to submit plans for a city or county building permit.

Older homes, built in the days of low-cost energy usually lack the proper insulation needed to keep heat in the house. Or in the summer time keep heat out of the house. The three types of insulation most commonly used are fiberglass batts, cellulose-blown in type and rigid foam type. These are all good types of insulation and each one has it's place.
